About Us

We’re George and Sarah Parent, owners of G&S Boardworks, a family run business focused on creating beautiful and unique handcrafted wood boards and accessories. With Sarah’s eye for design and cooking, and George’s attention to detail and desire for perfection (expected from a former Marine) each G&S Boardworks creation adds beauty and charm to any home and will be a cherished heirloom for years. Our three daughters and other family members have been invaluable to our success and we look forward to producing our unique, quality products for years to come.

From cutting and serving boards to multi-purpose trays and specialty pieces, G&S Boardworks products are made from a variety of hardwoods, most of which are sustainable and locally-sourced, and finished with painstaking care in our own workshop. Each item begins with hand selecting the wood that is cut, glued and shaped, with an eye to maintaining the uniqueness of the wood. To ensure the smoothest finish and appearance, pieces are planed and sanded multiple times then routed or engraved if appropriate, before being finished with mineral oil and our own beeswax Board Butter. The vibrant colors of the products come from the natural color of the woods - no stains, dyes or varnishes are used, and only food- grade materials are used, especially important for items that will be used for cutting and serving. Most G&S Boardworks products can be personalized and customized with laser engraving, so they make especially meaningful gifts for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and any special occasion!
